Questions
What is hidden in my photos?
Most phones and cameras save the GPS location, the date and time, the camera or phone model, and sometimes a serial number inside the file. This is called EXIF. Editing programs can add more, such as XMP and IPTC notes.
Does it reduce the quality?
No. The picture itself is not touched. Only the hidden data is cut out, so the photo is exactly as sharp as before.
Do social networks remove it for me?
Many do, but not all, and not when you send a photo by email or as a file. It is safer to clean the photo yourself first.
Are my photos uploaded?
No. Everything happens in your browser and the photos never leave your device.
Which formats work?
JPG, PNG and WebP. HEIC photos from an iPhone can be turned into JPG with the HEIC to JPG tool first.
