    How to use it

    1. Type a colour, or use the picker.
    2. Read the values in HEX, RGB, HSL, HSV and CMYK.
    3. Check the contrast against white and black text.

    Questions

    Which colour formats are understood?

HEX with 3, 6 or 8 digits, rgb() and rgba(), hsl() and hsla(), three plain numbers like 60,255,154, and CSS colour names such as teal.

What do AA and AAA mean?

They are levels of the WCAG accessibility rules for the contrast of text. AA needs a ratio of at least 4.5 to 1 for normal text, AAA needs 7 to 1.

    Is CMYK exact?

No. It is a simple conversion from screen colours. A printer will use its own colour profile, so printed colours may look different.
